Human Resources Intern

Job Title: Human Resources Intern

 

Job Summary: We are seeking an HR Intern to join our People & Operations team at Ground Up International. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start their career in Human Resources. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience across multiple HR functions. Responsibilities will include supporting recruitment efforts, onboarding, training and development programs, employee relations/legal processes, and assisting with basic compensation and benefits administration. 

 

This is a paid, part time internship, requiring 24 hours per week (3 days onsite) at our office near 34th street Herald Square. The internship will run for 6 months, with the potential to extend or convert to a full- time role based of performance and business needs. Start Date: beginning of April 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
    • Assist with posting job openings and reviewing resumes
    • Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate communications
    • Support recruitment events and early-career hiring initiatives
  • Onboarding & Training
    • Help prepare onboarding materials and new hire documentation
    • Assist with new hire orientation and training sessions
    • Support training and development programs, including tracking attendance and completion
  • General HR Support
    • Provide administrative support to the HR team
    • Assist with special projects and process improvements
    • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information
  • HR Operations & Employee Relations
    • Assist with maintaining employee files and HR systems
    • Support employee relations and basic HR/legal processes under supervision
    • Help draft internal HR communications and documentation
  • Compensation & Benefits Support
    • Assist with basic compensation and benefits administration tasks
    • Help respond to employee questions and route inquiries appropriately
    • Support benefits enrollment and data tracking as needed
       

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
  • Strong interest in starting a career in Human Resources
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
