Development Intern

The Development Intern will be a member of The Bridge’s Development & External Relations team. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, marketing, fundraising, and event planning. The intern will help tell The Bridge’s story through engaging digital content, fundraising campaigns, and strategic communications that advance our mission of providing help, hope, and opportunity to New Yorkers experiencing homelessness, serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and other challenges. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Create content for The Bridge’s communications channels, including social media, newsletters, e-blasts, and other marketing materials. 
  • Assist with major fundraising initiatives, including the Annual Report, Year-End Appeal, donor communications, and stewardship efforts. 
  • Capture photos and stories from agency programs, events, and staff to showcase The Bridge’s impact. 
  • Support communications planning by coordinating content calendars and collaborating with program staff on storytelling opportunities. 
  • Track and analyze social media, email, website, and fundraising data to help measure campaign performance and identify opportunities for growth. 
  • Provide general support for development, communications, and special events as needed. 

Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, communication, organizational, and time management skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and an interest in content creation, storytelling, and data-driven communications. 
  • Creative, collaborative, self-motivated, and eager to learn in a mission-driven nonprofit environment. 

 

 

This is not an hourly position. Intern will be eligible for a stipend of $2,000 once they reach 120 hours in internship. Intern will be in internship for 10-12 hours per week for 10-12 weeks.
