Duties
Serves as a Data Analytics Specialist in the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs.
Extracts, compiles, and analyzes information from various sources and develops program data, information, and reports in a variety of formats for presentation to and utilization by DFAS senior management officials, supervisors, and colleagues.
Applies scientific and statistical standards to data evaluation and analysis in order to develop high-priority analyses and metrics. Utilizes predictive modeling and statistical analysis to translate data into actionable business intelligence.
Collects, develops, and analyzes statistical data related to HR management and EEO complaints programs to identify trends and/or workforce characteristics that may warrant program changes and/or enhancements.
Participates in workforce analysis, succession planning, and other long-range initiatives relative to the recruitment, hiring, and retention of a high quality, diverse civilian workforce that can accomplish the Agency's mission.
Designs and maintains key EEO performance indicators and delivers findings in user-friendly and professional format which clearly communicates information and presents findings in a relevant, compelling, and actionable manner.
Prepares a variety of related reports on EEO and Diversity related issues and briefs management on findings. Prepares one time analyses, unique reports, and/or ad hoc reports on an as required basis.

Qualifications
This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense via delegated authority by the Office of the Secretary of Defense. One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 if outside the Federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as performing metrics and statistical analysis of data to identify and interpret patterns and trends. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include applying analytical and statistical techniques to sets of data to determine relevant business impact; designing, developing, and generating ad-hoc queries and reports; extracting, analyzing and identifying trends in data and then making meaningful recommendations; developing and monitoring metrics used in the evaluation of program goals and objectives.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment.
