GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Tax Analyst will assist with the preparation of federal and state corporate and partnership tax returns and assist in other tax related projects. You will be a key member in the income tax team, playing a very important role in tax compliance and transaction supports. This is a great opportunity to become a well-rounded tax professional while learning the business aspects of the renewable energy industry.

Main Accountabilities: 

  • Prepare federal and state corporate and partnership income tax return work papers including description computations, allocations Sections 704c, Section 743 set up, tax basis balance sheets, and capital accounts roll forward schedules
  • Work closely with portfolio management team to maintain the live financial models for third party investors
  • Provide due diligence support to M&A and portfolio management teams including analyzing financial models and preparing cost segregation studies
  • Assist with investment tax credit and production tax credit qualification by preparing beginning of construction certificate memo, and by preparing cost segregation studies
  • Prepare quarterly tax provision for Canada and Mexico
  • Perform other tasks as needed for federal and state corporate and partnership income tax planning and compliance

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
  • 1+ year experience in federal and state income tax compliance from a reputable public accounting, or 2+ years related experience in the industry
  • CPA preferred
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge of federal and state corporate and partnership taxation
  • In depth understanding of accounting principles
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (knowledge of complex functions and formulas) 
  • Energy industry experience preferred
  • Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products

  • Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form 
  • Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary

Qualifications


Education

Required
Bachelors or better in Accounting.
Preferred
Masters or better in Accounting.

Experience

Preferred
2 years: Experience in the industry
1 year: Experience in federal and state income tax compliance from a reputable public accounting
