Real Estate Asset Management Audit Intern

Richman Asset Management, Inc. a division of The Richman Group of Companies is currently seeking an Asset Management Intern for the Winter and Spring of 2024. The ideal candidate for this position is a highly motivated and responsible individual with very strong organizational and client relationship skills.

We are seeking a detail oriented individual to assist the Asset Management staff with the annual audit and tax return review and data input process. These reports are critical to the company’s ability to review financial and tax benefit performance for our investors. Thus, a basic understanding of real estate finance and familiarity with GAAP financial statements is required.

The position will begin in late January/ early February of 2024 and is expected to continue through May but depending on performance and Company need the internship may be extended to the mid- August, 2024.  Workdays and hours are flexible with over 20/hours of weekly availability preferred. The position will pay $20 per hour.

Interns hired by RAM gain valuable experience and have access to a wide array of real estate professionals. Interns may also become candidates for any employment opportunities that may arise.

The tasks required of the interns include, but are not limited to the following:

• Input tax returns to the proprietary software system
• Input audited financial statements to the proprietary software system 
• Ask questions on financial statements and tax returns to Senior Asset Managers
• Collect and input annual budgets
• Update Excel workbooks with key datapoints from annual audits. Highlight large variances from prior year entries
• Update fund residual models to determine value at disposition
• Assist in various Asset Management projects

Application Requirements:

• Alum or Senior in college
• Finance or Accounting majors with 3.0+ GPA
• Strong Accounting skills with experience/familiarity with Balance Sheets and Income Statements
• Strong organizational skills and work ethic, including the ability to manage multiple activities and priorities effectively
• Excellent analytical and communication skills (written, verbal, etc.).
• Must be motivated, energetic, detail-oriented and effective working both independently and in a team setting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong ability to learn new in-house developed technologies
