Social Media & Community Intern

HUA Wellness is looking for a highly motivated and creative Social Media & Community intern in the New York Metropolitan Area to grow our social following and organic community. We are new wellness brand startup based in NYC specializing in natural products for stress relief. This intern will have the opportunity to work directly with the founder and see how a company is run. We are looking for an intern to help grow our organic social channels by creating engaging on-brand content, testing out different content strategies, capturing event footage, and doing community outreach to form strategic partnerships. Applicants should be independent and strong communicators that can thrive in a startup environment. An interest and passion in health and wellness is strongly preferred.

 

Duration

This internship starts immediately and lasts for at least 3 months, with the possibility of being extended.

 

NOTE: This is an unpaid internship for college credit only.

 

Responsibilities

  • Study trends on social media and brainstorm content ideas
  • Develop, plan and maintain a content calendar
  • Meet with the founder once a week to present content ideas to produce for the upcoming weeks and review analytics from previous content to extract learnings
  • Research, film, edit, write SEO-optimized captions and send content for approval
  • Create static image and graphics-based posts using our brand assets and templates
  • Perform outreach to build strategic partnerships
  • Be present at events and pop-ups that we participate in to capture content and engage with customers
  • Improve, iterate, and adjust social strategy with goals of increasing brand following, engagement, awareness, and equity.

 

Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, organized, and timely with deliverables
  • Comfortable appearing in videos, interviewing others for content, and engaging in on-the-street/guerrilla marketing tactics
  • Ability to meet with the founder in-person once a week (in Manhattan or Brooklyn)
  • Previous social media creation experience preferred
  • Highly creative and resourceful with a entrepreneurial spirit and desire to be part of an early-stage company
