Drake Real Estate Partners - Summer Internship 2025

We are seeking a detail-oriented and ambitious Accounting Intern to support our finance team in managing the accounting and financial operations related to our Funds and Management Company. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in real estate private equity, including financial reporting, investment accounting, and fund management. This position will be based out of midtown New York City, with a targeted start date during the Summer of 2025. Compensation, flexible work arrangements and other benefits to be discussed.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:
▪ Accounting or Finance major; junior or senior standing in college preferred
▪ An interest in private equity fund accounting
▪ Minimum GPA of 3.0
▪ Strong organizational skills
▪ Experienced in working with Microsoft office suite and a proficiency in excel
▪ Prior bookkeeping experience and/or working knowledge of QuickBooks, MS Money or similar
▪ Knowledge of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement)
▪ Enjoy contributing to a growing, dynamic team which heavily relies on its back-office functions
▪ Ability to take a proactive approach and multi-task while working on competing deadlines
 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
▪ Assisting with the reconciliation of bank accounts, capital transactions, and investment accounts
▪ Assist with the preparation and review of the quarterly financial statements
▪ Assist with treasury functions for fund related cash, accounts payables and receivables, fund expenses and subscription facility transactions
▪ Completion of some bookkeeping and ability to ensure related entries balance
▪ Reviewing the books and records of various fund entities and confirming allocations
▪ Treasury support
▪ Assist in the review management fee calculations
▪ Assisting the team with completing various ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives
